hello everyone...
it's been a very long time since my last proper post... the reason is this, there's nothing really good happening to us lately...
Can't come up with a practice session with the regular soft pillow kisses members because each one has been either quite busy or really unavailable or just simply not in the proper frame of mind... in fact, i can't even organize a proper practice session with candyaudioline!!!
Charles just suffered a terrible loss of a loved one although he did tell me that he
'll be avaible very soon and he miss jamming and being with the rest of us... Jann Paul also isn't available. specially now that he has been moved to 4pm to 1am shift... although we did get to see each other last Monday as he went to our office and paid me a visit... he told me that he'll be available for practice during Sundays and Mondays... Rene on the otherhand isn't his usual indiepop personna lately... maybe it's the time of the year where a person becomes a totally different individual, sort of a temporary phase wherein he'd be totally out of sinc with the rest of us... hope that it is only temporary... Marian too is like out of it for a while... i can't seem to get in touch with her... i've been calling her for the past couple of days but she hasn't been returning my calls...
talk about though... well, i'm trying my best to understand the situation... i'm being patient for the time being... hope things change for the better in the days to come... i miss this band... i miss my bandmates so much...

Trying To Smile...
there are times when life can be all summer and spring...
full of happiness and promise...
like a perpetual glide in a sky dressed in technicolor playfullness...
then all of sudden, without warning, you fall...
a fall so devastating, you suddenly find yourself scattered in several billions of pieces scattered a few million light years a part...
but "life goes on anyway"...
Charles and Anne had recently lost their lovely baby Charlene... seeing her yesterday and just a while back at her wake got me thinking really hard... raising questions about life...
Fate and Faith... How and Why... Why, Why and WHY...
As we left Charles and Anne a while back, i can't help but feel sorry and sad for them for i can really feel the sadness and grief behind their smiles...

Sayang Biitin...
Hello Peeps,
We played at Route196 last night and inspite of really having a great time performing we really didn't get to enjoy much it because we were allowed only 4 songs...
just as when we were getting ready to let loose...
it was suppose to be hell that night due to Charles backing out at the last minute due to personal matters and Dennis' (Candyaudioline) uncertainty of filling in for Charles coz he had a gig with Tether (Dennis' mother band and one of the coolest bands around) somewhere near by... I was really relieved when he told me that Tether were to perform early and that he'll have ample time of catching up with us... Me, Kel and Rene had an impromtu last minute practice session chosing songs to play incase we won't have anyone doing lead...
it was really close considering that Dennis arrived just in time as the band (Ang bannday Shirley) before us was almost done with their last song... Also, i regret not playing "Undercover Angel" that time although we did play an alternate (Disco) take of "Just Like The Sky"...
Maybe next time, we'll get to play longer and earlier so that more people will get to see us and hopefully would come to terms with the fact that __________________

Soft Pillow Kisses @ Route 196
October 30, 2007, Tuesday, will be Day 21 of the 60-day ‘March for Land’ to Manila of 54 Sumilao farmers from Bukidnon. They began the grueling journey on foot from Mindanao last October 10, 2007—10 years since 15 of them came here for a hunger strike to regain their 144-hectare ancestral land.
Meanwhile, Manila’s respected musicians will show the farmers early support with a benefit gig on October 30, 9 PM at Route 196 (formerly Inihaw Republic) on 196 Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City. The event will feature performances by long-time advocates Chickoy Pura and Bayang Barrios, and rising indie bands, Purple Chickens, Ang Bandang Shirley, and Soft Pillow Kisses. Produced by Last Song Syndrome and SALIGAN (Sentro ng Alternatibong Lingap Panligal), an alternative legal resource center to local communities, women, the urban poor, peasant and labor sectors, proceeds will go to the ongoing fundraising initiative of Task Force Sumilao, an advocacy network of sectoral, civil society, church and student organizations.
The Sumilao farmers are expected to arrive in Manila by December 10 with the same unfulfilled demand. With their recurrent plea for land ownership to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is an appeal for the passage of HB 1257, a bill to extend and reform the current Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP). Throughout the trek they have been joined by other farmers, and welcomed by locals and motorists in the provinces.

Rare Occasion...
Hello everyone...
Last night, Soft Pillow Kisses played Buzz Night as a complete unit once more... it was really great seeing all my band mates together at the same place at the same time... Last time we were all together was like 2 months ago at a gig somewhere at The Fort...
i can truly say that last night's gig was one of the best we had this year because inspite not seeing each other eye to eye and not being able to jam for the last 2 months, we were still able to dish out a very decent performance... we even played a song that we haven't been playing for a long time now "Under-Cover Angel"...
Here's a run through of the songs we did last night and some comments:
Just Like The Sky - we usually play this one before the last song but since we were all nervous, we decided that this was the most comfortable opening song for us... Charles play one wrong note during the start of the instrumental part...
Stolen Flowers - this is usually our favorite opener but we sort of forgot... i made a big booboo during the last stanza which made me laugh-out-loud in the middle of the song causing Marian to fumble a bit and in the process give me a roundhouse left hook to the arm... boy that was really funny. too bad Dennis wasn't filming the song during that moment...
Your Shoes Are Untied - last night, this song was really perfect...
Under-Cover Angel - Evertyone didn't want to play this one last night but i bullied them to do so... Jann Paul was really having a hard time during this one but it still turn out well... i'll post the video soon... Charles played a wrong note near the ending...
Stay Here For A While - My favourite song of the night... someone requested this during Candyaudioline's set... Funny don't you think?
It Will Never last (Forever) - This was marian's request, me and Rene wanted to do something upbeat like "16Ft." or "I Was Right" but Jann Paul was obviously tired... marian sang very well on this one and i saw someone from the crowd smiling...
Bathing In The Sun - Our favorite closing song... and it was the best song to end the night... Unforgettable - for me at least...
We have another gig next week, on the 30th. it's a Tuesday and it's at Route196... see you soon!!!

Bonding
hello everyone...
dahil sa aking jet lag eh nagkaroon kami ng biglaang bonding session nina Charles, Rene at Cuckooh...
namiss ko talaga itong mga ito, sayang wal yung iba... mas masaya cguro... as usual, proceed kami agad to kainville and one of the best spots in town is Tomato Kick... buti nalang at sabado kahapon at kahil mga 1:30am na kami dumating dun eh bukas pa rin... syempre kuwento lang ng kuwento ang cno mang may kuwento... nakakalungkot lang kasi sa loob ng isang buwang absence ko eh parang wala masyadong nangyari sa mga kaibigan ko at pati sa mga banda ko rin, lalu na sa Candyaudioline kung saan wala nanaman kaming bahista ngayon... pero okey lang rin... hahanap pa rin kami pero pansamantala eh si Rene muna...
Wala pa ring pinagbago yung tatlo... si Cuckooh, sablay at mahangin pa rin, si Rene, indiekid na indiekid pa rin si Charles hanggang ngayon eh galit na galit pa rin... oo nga pala, nakakatuwa rin yung kuwento na na-lockjaw si Charles... ang daya at d nya ipinakita yung mga pics...
Grabe, jet lag pa rin ako... ang lungkot tuloy kasi pag gising ako, tulog na lahat ng tao...

Looking Forward Turning Backwards...
Hello Everybody...
Excited na ako bumalik sa Pilipinas... Kahit anong ganda ng mga lugar dito sa U.S. eh wala pa ring tatalo sa dating ng sarili nating country...
Doon, labas ka lang ng bahay mo eh sari-saring lugar ang makaka-inan mo... dito, paglabas mo sa hotel eh puro malalawak na kalsada at malamig na simoy ng hangin ang sasalubong sa iyo... pag wala ka pang sasakyan ay bubusugin mo nalang ang sarili mo sa kakalanghap ng hangin... kaya tuloy ngayon, tabang-hangin na ako...
di pwede yung kabanda kong si Dennis (Candyaudioline) dito... Sobrang bihira ang kanin (rice)... Kundi pa kami nakikain sa isang Pinoy na pamilya na umasikaso sa amin dito eh talagang mapupurga na kami sa tinapay at burger... Kung may kanin man eh di naman masarap ang preparation, maliban lang sa rice ng Pollp Loco, hehehe...
Kapag mag-shopping ka naman eh sobrang malulula ka sa sobrang dami ng choices... mauubos lang ang oras mo sa kakapili... ako nga wala gaanong nabili para sa akin at sa mga mahal ko sa buhay... hayaan nyo mga friendships, pag mag kita tayo eh bahala na kung saan tayo dalhin ng mga paa natin... as in may pera naman ako noh!!! pero okey lang...
kapansin-pansin din ang naglalakihang dibdib ng mga babae dito... por dyos por santo naman, kahit na pinay eh gifted dito... yung nga lang minsan sobra din sa ka-ekekkan sa katawan ang sasarap tuloy pag-sisipain... Joke lang, love your own ikah nga duh bah!!! (Baklang-Bakla yata yun ah)...
Cge ne... Bye bye... i'm so glad na tapos na yung work namin dito... i did get to meet a lot of really cool people, and did went to really great places but nothing beats the feel of being home...

Universal Studio Gimik...
hello everyone...
mali yata na dito i-post eto samantalang yung pi-nost ko sa Candyaudioline na blog eh mas bagay yata dito eh... pero what the heck... Nag punta kami kahapon sa Universal Studios... aliw kaming lahat although umadar nanaman ang pagka-KJ ko at pagka-takot sa kung anu-anong rides pero nag-Jurassic Park ako kung saan muntik nang maiwan yung kaliwang kilay ko sa ere... hay naku, d ko na uulitin eto... Pero enjoy naman ako sa Horror House kung saan kapit-tuko sa akin yung isang napaka-gandang Korean girl almost 40% of the time... at pati yung Shrek na 4D, sobrang aliw, namiss ko tuloy si Charles (Donkey)...

The USA...
hello everyone...
haven't really had the chance to post but when i get to do so, i've lot of things to to tell... i'm just letting time fly by while giving patty (an old friend from the Philippines who've i met up with about 4 hours ago) sometime to take a nap... i'll be waking her up in an hours time so that she'll be able to get home safely... d ko naman kabisado itong lugar na ito kaya d ko sya maihatis sa dorm nya. at the same time, mahal ang taxi dito...
hehehe... buti nalang nagkita kami ni patty dto sa san fransisco... grabe, tawa lang kami ng tawa dto, lalu na nang lapitan kami ng isang ex-stock market broker from cananda na mukang napaka-talino pero may konting sayad... the told us that he had a dream and in that dream... hayaan na natin yun... nasobrahan lang cguro yung canadian dude kaya para tuloy may sayad ang dating nya
I was feeling a bit depressed a while ago but seeing her really cheered me up...
I miss all by bandmates and my bands too... pag balik ko, gig sana tayo ng marami...

the mag:net jinx
ang saya ng God Knows Hudas not Pay the anniversary kahit may mga annoying changes sa band line-up, kesyo late ang bandang ganyan so mammove lahat, etc. nung set na namin, konti nalang ng tao kasi umaga na tapos last band kami, kahit gusto magstay ng mga tao, hindi na puwede kasi alas-dos na 'ata 'non. twice na yan sa mag:net. jinx. shit happens. pero all in all, it was a successful night. congrats sa Ang Bandang Shirley dahil ang daming pumunta, nakakagulat yung (star-studded haha) attendance kahit galing lang sa baha at bagyo yung Metro Manila.

Late Post: Soft Pillow Kisses @ Magnet (The Fort)
Hello everyone...
i've been very busy the past few days... work related nga eh... and at last, all systems go na for me to go to the US...
Last week, we played at Magnet (The Fort)... we were really happy that night kasi complete kami... Me, Marian, Charles, Rene and Jann Paul... we didshed out six songs that night and kahit na kami yung pinaka-last na band at halos mesa't unpuan nalang ang mga nasa harapan namin, we still had a truly enjoyable set... Sadly, baka yun na muna ang last gig na kumpleto kami because Charles will be busy again... I on the otherhand will be US-bound for a month, Jann Paul, i think, will still be doing night shifts while Rene on the other hand, well i don't know yet as to what's eating up his time lately...
one memorable part of that Magnet gig was during the song "Stolen Flowers"... Marian made a mistake with the lyrics which really caught us all by surprise and eventually shortening the song... I have it on video, just can't find the right time to post it... maybe soon...

Ipinatigil na ng Catholic Church ang pagdarasal para sa ulan. Kasi ngayon, answered prayer na siya. Super answered prayer!!! Waaah itigil niyo na kasi basa na lahat ng flats at bootch ko! Tapos hindi ko mabilad sa araw kasi walang araw. Tapos kailangan pa namin mag-cancel ng gig sa Saguijo last Wednesday (sorry Christian Bautista!) dahil bumabaha sa Buendia. Ang tagal na tuloy tigang ng Soft Pillow Kisses!
Pero tomorrow, we are tigang no more because we have a gig yeheeey.

Soft Pillow Kisses Update...
Hello Everyone...
Ginagawa ko ito sa Candyaudioline Blog paminsan-minsan at first time ko lang gagawin ko ito sa Soft Pillow Kisses... So Here it goes...
Marian (Taken from her post) - Updates lang: Makati office girl na ko. Himala, nag-settle din ako after months of searching for the perfect job. Natagpuan ko na 'ata yehey :) Walang dress code, flexi ang schedule, Internet the whole day, may headphones provided para makinig ka sa mp3s/CDs mo, walking distance sa Greenbelt 1, may mobile allowance, walang time in/time out ang breaks, at hindi nakaka-bato kasi ginagawa ko yung gusto ko. Panalo! (That's very nice to hear/read)
Charles - tatay na sya since last Thursday pa yata... at the same time, problemado din sya syempre sa mga expenses nya... yung isang banda nya ay d pa yata bumabalik galing US kaya hayun, wala pa syang kita... pero ayun sa mga relaible sources, madalas daw galit itong si Charles... nung huyling magkasama kami nyan sa isangf gig ng Candyaudioline sa Sharkeys nung Aug. 11, ramdam na ramdam namin ang galiut ni Charles, pati nga ako at si Rene ay nagalit din samantalang si Dennis yata mas naguton eh pero may galit pa rin...
Rene - Study Hard naman ang tema ng buhay ni Rene ngayon... maluwang ang scheds nya from Sunday to Wednesday pero pag Thursday until Saturday nag mimistulang laman ng Ospital ang butuhing nilalang na ito... Abala rin sa sa pag-sa-soundtrip sa kanyang kaisa-isang prized possession... ang kanyang PSP kung saan doon sya nag-lalaro ng mga games, nakikinig ng music ant nanunuod ng kung anu-anong videos... Huling magkasama kami ang medyo lumiit na ang pimple nya sa right cheek nya...
Jann Paul - hay naku... yah ang pinaka-misteryosong myembro ng aming banda... mahirap silipin ang mga pinag-gagawa nyan sa araw-araw... ang alam naming lahat eh busy sa work yan tapos night shift pa sya kaya hindi mo na makikita yan na nakatambay sa isang waiting shed sa tapat ng Housing sa may Quezon Memorial Circle pag gabi...
Me - may mga pi-nost na ako sa Candyaudioline na Blog about what I've been up to lately pero I'll add some more... i'm trying very hard to lose weight in preparation for my going to the US... also i've been very frustrated at trying to get myself a new but cheap handycam... Badtrip kasi yung nabili namin sa Hong-Kong eh... also i'm trying to cope with a certain ache that occasionally pops up somewhere near the heels region of my foot... i've been experiencing this for more that a week now...
There you have it... as if you care di ba... but for those whose a bit interested at what's going on with lately, this posts is for you... Hopefully we could get a gig before i leave for the US or if not, at least get to have a practice session and record some of it on video and post it somewhere like youtube or multiply so that we'll have something to share...
